Aims & Scope

The International Journal of Politics and International Relations (IJPIR) aims to advance scholarly understanding of political systems, processes, and international affairs by publishing original, high-quality research that explores the theory and practice of politics in diverse contexts. The journal seeks to foster dialogue among academics, policymakers, and practitioners, contributing to both theoretical debates and practical solutions to contemporary political and global challenges.

Scope

IJPIR welcomes a wide range of submissions that engage with, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • Political Science and Theory:
Foundations of political thought, ideologies, governance models, democratic theory, political philosophy, and the evolution of political ideas.

  • Comparative Politics:
Analyses of political systems, electoral processes, party systems, governance structures, and public policy across different countries and regions.

  • International Relations:
Studies of international organisations, diplomacy, security studies, global governance, peace and conflict, international law, and foreign policy analysis.

  • Global and Transnational Issues:
Research on globalisation, migration, climate change politics, human rights, global health governance, and transnational movements.

  • Emerging and Interdisciplinary Areas:
Political economy, political communication, the intersection of technology and politics (e.g., cybersecurity, digital diplomacy), and cultural dimensions of political life.

IJPIR values diverse methodological approaches, quantitative, qualitative, comparative, case-based, or theoretical, and encourages interdisciplinary research that connects political science and international relations with economics, sociology, law, history, and cultural studies.
